Tammerlane Health Care Centre specializes in the care of the chronically mentally ill. Located in Sterling, Illinois, we are situated in a calm, quiet subdivision. Considered rural, we face a corn field on our east, a church to the north and directly behind and to the south is the community.
Tammerlane is a private facility, offering comprehensive mental health services to all in need, regardless of race, sex, religion or national origin. We are Medicaid certified.
We offer well trained staff in the area of mental health. Our one of a kind Behavior Department plans and writes the facility's individual program plans. Goals include, but are not limited to, maintaining the highest functional level possible of each resident. Tammerlane offers Certified Psychiatric Nurses with knowledge of disease specific interventions for active treatment of the mentally ill. We are linked to multiple community resources and have a Board Certified Psychiatrist who provides psychiatric in-house service.
Tammerlane resident's vary in age from 26-90. Our activities, meals, outings and special events are planned with this age diversity in mind. Overall, Tammerlane wishes to provide interventions in order to maintain or improve independent living skills in spite of illness and environment.
As a small town facility, Tammerlane offers all the required elements and a "whole lot of extras" for anyone in need of our services. Just give us a call. |

Tammerlane currently participates with Sinnissippi Centers Incorporated, in a grant funded program to provide skill training for the seriously mentally ill in local long term care facilities.
Individuals are assesed for ability, desire to attend, level of current function, history and potential for success. Persons deemed appropriate attend the center on a regular basis via groups, training such as food prep, symptoms management, stress management and anger management. A few groups and 1:1s are offered in the facility by the Sinnissippi staff.
Still in its infancy, this program offers excellent opportunities for qualifying residents. Long term goals include skills to support independent living should such be a possibility I the future. In the meantime, residents are improving the quality of their lives.
Tammerlane is happy to be a part of this innnovative program and hope it will continue to grow in the future. We expect changes and improvements over the next year.
