Lifelong Fans Cheer Hardest for Cubs and
White Sox to Make it to the World Series
Residents of Illinois Council on Long Term
Care facilities have rooted for Chicago
teams longer than most
For the first time since 1906, both of
Chicago’s professional baseball teams have
advanced to the playoffs and no one would
like to see the Cubs or the White Sox play
in the World Series more than the dedicated
fans residing in Illinois Council on Long
Term Care homes.
For decades, these residents have supported
the Cubs and the White Sox and embody the
passion and dedication of true “super-fans.”
If you catch any of them wandering the halls
of their homes, they’ll be happy to tell you
why their team is the best and is going to
make it all the way to the World Series this
year. Most have adorned their rooms with
articles, pictures and nostalgia they have
collected throughout the years.
Whether it’s for the boys in
blue or the boys in black and white, these
fans will be cheering the hardest for a spot
in the World Series. Let’s play ball!
