Illinois Nursing Homes Launch Ad Campaign to Recognize
and Recruit "Hero" Caregivers
(Chicago) -- The long-term care community needs dedicated
caregivers. This is the message from the Illinois Council
on Long Term Care as it launches a statewide advertising
campaign to encourage more people to consider a career
in the nursing home profession. The inaugural campaign
will begin October 23, 2000.
The "Heroes Have Many Faces" radio advertisements
and poster campaign will highlight dedicated professionals
who provide care for Illinois' nursing home residents.
The goals of the campaign are to celebrate the commitment
of the people who work in nursing homes and encourage
others to consider employment in this growing sector.
Face Communications, a Chicago-based health care branding
and marketing company, created the campaign.
"Our new ad campaign recognizes the many compassionate
professionals who provide superb care in Illinois' nursing
homes," says Terry Sullivan, executive director
of the Illinois Council on Long Term Care. "As
our country's population ages, we will need even more
of the dedicated caregivers we now have."
Four different 60-second radio spots, which will be
translated for Spanish-language radio stations, feature
testimonials from current nursing home heroes that emphasize
the personal and professional returns gained by working
in the industry. The ads will run on WGN-AM 720, WJMK-FM
104.3, WLEY-FM 107.9, WVAZ-FM 102.7, and WNUA-FM 95.5
in Chicago; WMBD-AM 1470, WPBG-FM 93.3, and WSWT-FM
106.9 in Peoria; WFMB-AM 1450 and WNNS-FM 98.7 in Springfield;
and WVZA-FM 92.7, WQRL-FM 106.3, and WDDD-FM 107.3 in
Marion-Carbondale. The ads are targeted toward adults
35 to 64 years old. More than 2,000 radio ads will run
from October 23rd to December 1, 2000.
Posters, for distribution around the state and at Council
facilities, recognize current heroes while encouraging
new recruits to the field.
The Illinois Council on Long Term Care is a professional
association of more than 210 nursing facilities committed
to quality residential health care in Illinois through
